All ancient wisdom teachers agree that if we want to create a life we love that includes deep happiness we need to live with virtue.

Modern science validates this ancient wisdom. The positive psychology movement agrees that we need to live consistent with the virtues taught by all major wisdom traditions:

  • Courage,
  • Self Mastery,
  • Integrity,
  • Wisdom,
  • Love, and
  • Transcendence.

Transcendence includes gratitude, spirituality, humor and appreciation of beauty and excellence.

Martin Seligman, a founder of the positive psychology movement, and author of Authentic Happiness and Flourish, created the Virtues in Action Character Strengths Survey.

According to that survey, my signature strengths are love, creativity, curiosity, gratitude, and zest for living.

What are yours? Click on this link to take the survey.

I feel best when I'm engaging in my signature strengths, so I deliberately find ways to do that.

In my course, The Art of Adulting, we create our essence image to remind us of our core virtues.

Stop by and learn more.

Bye for now.
